Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced on Monday that the Bihar Assembly elections will occur in two phases on November 6 and 11. The counting of votes will take place on November 14, concluding the entire electoral process by November 16.

For the second phase, the last date to file nominations is October 20, with scrutiny taking place on October 21. The final date for withdrawal of candidature will be October 23.
The current term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is set to end on November 22, creating urgency around the electoral timetable.
Bihar features a total of 243 Assembly constituencies, with two reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 38 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). This reservation plays a critical role in representing marginalized communities within the legislative assembly.
