In a significant milestone for sports in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, three talented volleyball players have earned selection for the prestigious Uttar Pradesh Pro Volleyball League 2025.
The selected players include:
- Saqlain Tariq from Poonch
- Mannat Choudhary from RS Pura (Jammu)
- Shadab Shamim from Anantnag
According to sources, Mannat Choudhary is currently undergoing training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre in Jammu. Both Saqlain Tariq and Shadab Shamim are former trainees of the same center, highlighting the role of SAI in nurturing sports talent in the region.
Their selection is being hailed as a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, reflecting the emerging potential and dedication of local youth in national-level sporting arenas. The Uttar Pradesh Pro Volleyball League is slated to commence next month and promises a highly competitive atmosphere.
The 2025 edition of the league will see participation from eight teams, namely:
- Mathura Yodhas
- Muzaffarnagar Lions
- Kashi Warriors
- Gorakhpur Giants
- Moradabad Bulls
- Ayodhya Super Kings
- Noida Thunders
- Lucknow Tigers
