Amarnath Yatra: Batch of over 7,500 pilgrims leave Jammu amid heightened security cover

JULY 8: Amidst the tight security cover, a fresh batch of over 7,500 pilgrims left Jammu on Tuesday for the Amarnath Shrine.

The pilgrims were brimmed with zest and zeal and reverberated “Bam Bam Bhole” and chanted Shiv Bhajans while departing Jammu for the holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The 38-day-long pilgrimage for the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine of Amarnath commenced on July 3 and will culminate on August 9, 2025.

Pilgrimage from the valley is via the twin tracks — the traditional 48-km-long Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district.

It is learnt that more than 94,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva since the beginning of the yatra.

Notably, the seventh batch of over 7,500 pilgrims underpinned 5,516 men and 1,765 women.
