The Jammu and Kashmir government announced on Thursday the formation of a high-level committee dedicated to developing a Single Window System for processing recruitment rules efficiently and in a time-bound manner.
The General Administration Department (GAD-JK) issued an order appointing the Principal Secretary of the Public Works (R&B) Department as the Chairman of this newly constituted committee. The team comprises prominent officials, including the Commissioner/Secretary of the Government, General Administration Department; the Commissioner/Secretary of the Trainings and ARI Department as the Member Secretary; and the Secretaries of the School Education, Information Technology, and Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs departments. The committee will also include representatives from the J&K Public Service Commission and the J&K Services Selection Board, specifically those not below the rank of Additional Secretaries.
This committee’s main objective is to finalize the digitization of recruitment rules based on the successful ‘Delhi Model’ aimed at expediting administrative processes. It has the critical task of implementing digital strategies with the assistance of BISAG-N as a digital partner, ensuring seamless coordination, monitoring, and review of the overall recruitment system.
The establishment of this committee marks a significant step towards modernizing recruitment processes within the state government. By streamlining procedures, it aims not only to enhance efficiency but also to improve transparency and accessibility for job seekers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The use of a Single Window System will help eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks that often delay recruitment, thus ensuring timely updates and responsiveness to job applications. The ARI & Trainings Department will provide the necessary support and resources to facilitate the work of this committee, ensuring alignment with the state’s broader goals of governance and public service efficiency.
