Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha is set to chair a Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar today, focusing on essential security matters in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting will begin at 11 am and will comprise various high-ranking officials from military and law enforcement agencies.
The UHQ serves as the primary command hub for security and intelligence operations in Jammu and Kashmir. During this meeting, Sinha will assess the prevailing security dynamics in the region, including the recent escalation of tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan. The agenda will include discussions on winter preparedness and other vital issues affecting the Union Territory.
Officials stated that Sinha will receive briefings from top security personnel regarding the current situation at the LoC and international borders in Jammu and Kashmir. Attendees will include Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, alongside heads of various paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies.
This meeting marks a significant moment, coming after Sinha’s last UHQ meeting in May, which followed the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’. In that previous session, Sinha had urged the security forces to carry out “precise, intelligence-led operations” to eliminate terrorist threats and dismantle their supportive networks.
