This measure is part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, aimed at eradicating substance abuse from the region.
The attachment occurred at Police Station Nowhatta under the provisions of Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This action relates to FIR No. 61/2019 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Authorities took this step to dismantle the financial operations of drug networks.
The attached assets include a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block equipped with three washrooms, and a land parcel measuring 09 marlas. Investigations revealed that these assets were directly acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
Nisar Ahmad Sheikh is a resident of Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah, Hawal in Srinagar, and the police established that the assets reflected his illegal activities.
