Ramban, September 23: In a tragic turn of events, two police officers were found deceased in a car at Ziarat Morh, located in the Sana region of Batote tehsil, on the evening of September 22, as reported by local officials.
According to sources from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the officers were discovered unresponsive inside a Fiat Linea with registration number JK-19/5299 at approximately 8:30 PM. Local residents immediately transported them to the District Hospital in Ramban, where doctors declared both of them dead upon arrival.
The victims have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed (No. 408/Rbn) and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob (No. 309/Rbn). Ahmed hailed from Bhatti Ramban, while Yaqoob was a resident of Jatgali Ramban. Both officers served at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Ramban.
Following standard procedure, the bodies have been retained at the hospital as authorities conduct necessary medico-legal formalities.
While the precise cause of death remains unclear, police officials have initiated an investigation to determine the events leading up to this unfortunate incident. They have assured that all relevant details will be disclosed as they become available.
